He has captured my heart....

I recently listened to a song sang by Matt Stinton from Bethel Church called your love is extravagant. The lyrics to this song just removed another veil and made me see the love of God in another dimension. It made me realize that we cannot fully walk in love until we understand the love of God for us, by fully walking in love I mean it will be difficult for us to love other people and to do everything in love.

Ephesians  3 (KJV)
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Apostle Paul in the above scripture talks about something so very powerful that if we were to understand it and soak ourselves in it our whole lives will be changed. For a very long time I read this scripture but I could never understand what Paul was saying but I thank God for the Holy Ghost for he leads us into all truth. In verse 17, we can see that one receives this love by having faith in Jesus Christ, so by receiving Christ into our lives we are also receiving his love for us but it does not just end there.

The Scripture continues to say that being rooted and grounded in love (what love?), the love that we have freely received by faith. So how does one get grounded in this love, because yes, we have received it by believing in him who first loved us. But what does the scripture mean by being grounded? Being grounded means being fully conscious or being fully aware of something. So when we are fully conscious and aware of the love we will be able to walk in it.

So in order for one to be grounded in love, one needs to receive this love first and then get to understand this love through scripture. Yes! through scripture, in my previous posts I have mentioned how the word of God has power to change situations because it reveals to us who God is and in turn who we are because we were made in his image. Meditate on the word day and night and I tell you it will change your life forever.

In verse 18 and 19 the scripture says that "may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—  to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." This portion of the Scripture talks about knowing the love of God. It is to perceive, that is to know by revelation, its width, length,depth and height. This love is too much that one cannot just know it by human understanding. So that we may be filled with all the fullness of God, this is mind blowing. The fullness of God, because God is love so by knowing and being grounded in love we shall be filled with ALL the fullness of God. Think about that for a moment. If we live with this consciousness we will never see defeat in our lives because love never fails, it always wins. I still say, love is the most powerful force on earth.

While listening to the song I couldn't help it but to just cry, I didn't even have enough words to thank God for his love that he demonstrated through Christ Jesus. I found my self on the floor in my room just in awe of his love. How can one even begin to talk about this love, it is beyond human comprehension one can only understand it by revelation through the Holy Spirit. Everyday I get to see another side to it, it is the most beautiful thing. woooooo! the joy that comes with knowing that Christ loves me and he died for my sake and I am seated in heavenly places in him (Ephesians 2:6) is overwhelming. we are no ordinary human beings, glory be to God!

The song says this love covers sin, eh! what a love. Let us soak ourselves in the love of Christ, let us be fully grounded in this love. Let us make time in our daily schedules to spend time in his presence meditating on this great love and let this love perfect your ways, because love fulfills the law (Romans 13:8) hence walking in love means walking in perfection. Yes, perfection 1Corintians 13 shows us how powerful love is;
  Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
 Yes! that is you. You can live a life like that. Just take time in his presence meditating on this truth and it shall set you free. Devour the word of God like never before, get to know his love for you and begin to walk in perfection. Glory!
